The traditional family

Everyone would prefer to have a family where there's both a mother and father. After all that is what the "traditional family" is. As for me, I definitely would have wanted that but with the circumstances I was living in, god removed me from being apart of such a dysfunctional family. Not to exaggerate or to make him look bad, but my father was a monster. The amount physical and verbal abuse he put my siblings, mother, and I through I don't even want to speak on. There's people who say they hate their parents for the simplest of things and hate is such a strong word that I hate using. I have a strong, strong dislike for my father for mistreating my family and I. My father was there, but was never actually there. My mother was everything; a mother, father, supporter, bread winner, and she made sacrifices. The biggest sacrifice she made was choosing to stay and continue to be mistreated for the sake of her children. I hate that she did that because honestly her happiness meant more to me than my own happiness but her staying showed that she cared about her children more than herself. In a way though, I still have that traditional family structure because my mother fulfills the roles of a mother and father. It actually feels great knowing I have superwoman as my mother; she gets my highest honor, and always will.
