Writings on the wall...

While there are many similarities between Islam and Christianity, one of the major things that set the two religions apart is the way in which Jesus/ Issa is viewed. Those who practice the Christian faith believe Jesus is the son of God, but on the other hand Jesus is viewed as the Prophet for those who practice the religion of Islam. Even though I am Muslim, I keep an open mind to other religions and try to understand the way other religions work. This conflict between whether Jesus is a prophet or son is one that I have closely looked into and analyzed. I've always said that putting everything else aside, I do not understand how one can believe that man... a human being could ever be worshipped and thought of so highly of when there is a power who is above them, GOD. I've always said that I do not understand how one can believe that God was able to give birth to a human when he is not a human being, nor did he have a wife or anything of that sort. Muslims glorify Jesus and as well as all the other prophets, especially Mohammad, (peace be upon him) but we only glorify them to a certain extent. Allah receives the highest of all praises because man cannot amount to his significance or importance. When something happens, whether good or bad, Christians tend to say "Jesus Christ" or "thank you Jesus" as oppose to things like "God guide me through this" or "thank you God." I think it's all common sense, but to each its own.
