once you get a taste of the lifestyle

I believe that once you get a taste of a certain lifestyle it is difficult for you to go back. Once you know what love feels like, it becomes difficult for you to stop that feeling or that emotion. Once you become knowledgeable, it is difficult for you to act uneducated. 
...And as for me, once I got a taste of the criminal justice profession, it was hard for me to not think from a law enforcement point of view. Once I got a taste of the military life, my mindset and viewpoint has changed tremendously. I look at things very differently now. My thoughts on certain situations have broaden for I now have a background that many people cannot relate to and may not understand.
