Dysfunctional

I joke around and laugh a lot, but one thing I do not do is judge or laugh at a persons living situation or circumstances. From the outside looking in, I know people would rarely see hurt, pain, suffering, abandonment, abuse, or dysfunction when they look at me. I am no different from those individuals who grew up in a dysfunctional household and those who had to witness things that no child should ever have to. I sympathize and empathize with those kids because my grass was not green, I was just able to successfully put on a disguise. I never looked or acted like what I was going through, and now that I think of it... I'm happy I didn't because I probably wouldn't have made it as far as I did.
