We must love our black men because this world does not

My nephew usually stays at my house while his father goes to work. When my nephew was first born, my brother was not working so my nephew was around his dad all the time. Ever since my brother began working, I noticed that my nephew experiences a form of separation anxiety. Just the mere thought that his dad is going to leave him causes him to become down.
As a 1 year old going on 2, I think my nephew is very advanced and smart for his age. My nephew knows my brother's routine... He figured out his father's schedule. For the past few days my nephew has been at my house, and I noticed a pattern in his behavior, and his attitude today confirmed my theory. My nephew waits up until his father returns from work. My nephew would even wait up all alone for his dad if he needs to.
My brother usually arrives from work around 12:45-1am, but today he came back a bit later. As 1 o'clock approached, I noticed my nephew was not at ease... Jumping from one place to another. As 1:30 approached he began to cry, yelling out "Dada." At that moment, my nephew confirmed to me the reason why he stayed up so late...He waits up for his dad.
There is no bond greater than that of a father and son. Because of certain circumstances, a lot of young black kids do not have the luxury of waiting up for their dad, because he will not be coming. We must love our black men because if we don't, who will? The killings and slayings of innocent black men needs to come to an end. Even if the world hates my "black" brother, I know that my nephew loves him. Just like my nephew, they're are thousands of kids who wait up for their dads each and every day. There are mothers who wait up for their sons, and wives who wait up for their husbands. As some do return home, others are killed and/or put in cuffs for no good reason at all. Our black men need to be uplifted, instead of being put down by society and the justice system. #blackLivesMatter #blackMenMatter #blackFathersMatter #UpliftOurBlackMen #empowerOurBlackMen
